a father's day blessing

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

Sweet Hearts...

This Father's Day is a miracle for our family.

I wish for you the miracle of unconditional LOVE
& a Father's Day filled with...

the touch of a loved one, a smile from a child,
the sweet sound of laughter
& the joy of family!

XOXO

Susie, thank you. You made what was a difficult day while missing my Dad, a day to remember in so many ways, Why I miss him. He died suddenly over 2 yrs. ago while I was visiting my sis in TX...all the way across the country. I miss him so much, it is still so painful remembering the long trip home, bittersweet, like today. I know he is with God. Thanks for sharing this wonderful dedication to all dads.

Susie, I agree this has to be the most heartwarming Father's Day post in all of Blogland. Where in the world did you find such moving old photos? Those very first two and the father and son in uniform are especially endearing to me... along with the pictures of your Dad from yesterday. I'm so happy to know your family enjoyed a nice Father's Day together, after all you have been through in the past month. And I agree with Diane, YOU are an inspiration!!! xoxox

Susie, Thank you for sharing that beautiful poem & those photos. Fathers are indeed one of life's most amazing treasures. You are so lucky to still have your precious Daddy here with you & I think you know that even more this year than last (after the scare you both had). I think of my precious Daddy & what I wouldn't do for just one more day... & never would I pass up the chance to tell him how very much I LOVE him. Now, wiping tears let me say THANK YOU for stopping by to see my studio & leaving such sweet words. It is a fun place to spend time with all my toys & treasures. We need another phone chat. Seems so long ago. HUGS! Charlene
