The American Dream

Sweetest of Hearts...

How can I express to you all, how grateful I am for all of your kind words & blessings.

Thank You, doesn't even come close to what I'm feeling right now...

Saving Grace, yes...Saving Grace might be a little bit closer

to what I feel in my heart!

Your support & encouragement,

your shared experiences & insight,

to simply know I'm not alone in this fight makes all the difference.

Growing up in the 50's, left such a lasting impression on me of what
The American Dream was.
It was Ozzie & Harriet, Leave it to Beaver & Father Knows Best.
It was I Love Lucy & Lassie & The Andy Griffith Show.
The worst thing that ever happened was that Opie didn't have a Mommy,
but he did have Aunt Bea, who sometimes seemed even better then a Mommy.
You worked hard, you had a family, a home, a car
& with those few simple steps, you were living
The American Dream.
Is it wrong of me to say "I Miss It!"
That I long for the innocence of those days.

We now know that a lot of it was a facade, that bad things happened even then.
But in all the years of my youth, I don't remember anyone that I or
my family knew losing their home.
I'd never heard of the term FORECLOSURE.
How is that even possible?
If each house averaged 3 residents, that would mean that
8,610,000 people lost their homes just in 2010.
Is the American Dream becoming the American Nightmare?
Please friends, don't get me wrong...
I LOVE AMERICA
& I would NEVER wish to live or have been born anywhere else!
I DO believe we are the best country in the world, but I am scared.
What are our children & grand-children going to inherit from us?
What is the legacy we will leave for them?
What is my prayer right now, this very moment?
It's not for me, I'm a survivor...I can live as happily in a little
vintage trailer as I can in a mansion.
I pray that our government can quite fighting among itself...
that for the moment, all political parties would disappear...
that all bank institutions will be forced to be monitored & watch dogged...
that pride & power could take a backseat & that by working
together for the greater good of ALL AMERICANS,
our government can pull us up by the bootstraps & get this
country back on track again.
I guess that's my American Dream now...
the dream of giving us all a better chance of grabbing
hold of it & keeping it & having a little something at the end of the day,
to pass on to our kids.
I'll get off my soapbox now!!! LOL

XOXO

Susie Love we are watching 'down here' & we feel for you....I don't like to make political comments on my blog or anyone elses's for that matter but if it's ONE THING you all need right now it's for your government to sit down, shut the hell up & LISTEN to it's people....!!

The Australian government would also benefit from this 'small' insight....!!

If it's ANY consolation, I'll be back in Texas WITH a Friend to inject some funds into your economy....Not much I know but we'll do our best....!!!!

I hope you're well GORGEOUS Girl aside from these VERY serious concerns....!

Cheers from your Aussie Mate,
Tamarah xxx

I agree, Susie. I believe our fore fathers would be disguisted with the mess these educated? men have done to Our AMERICA. I love my country and want them to listen to the people. Don't they see what they are doing to our grandchildens future.
On a lighter note..........
Come on over and we will craft together!!!

Susie,
I am with you, honey, and I pray that the American Dream returns. I, too, am so sad and so tired of the political parties fighting back and forth. You are so well spoken...I will hold your wish in my heart!
Big hugs,
Suz

I know you are facing a difficult time right now. I truly hope things will work out for the best for you Susie. "It's only money" rings hollow for anyone going through a financial crisis because for them money is so important. A home is the American Dream, but it seems like we got lost the last 10 years or so. Here's to better times ahead for all of us and today, I wish, especially, for you. Ann
