7th Bead Soup Blog Party, Yipppeee!

Howdy Sweet Friends & Sistah Soupers...
Happy Bead Soup Party Day to y'all!

Yes, today is the 3rd Reveal date for our lovely hostess,

Throwing this party is a GINORMOUS undertaking, especially
with over 500 participants this year. I just want to start off by
thanking Lori for coming up with this idea & for all her
hard work in getting us organized & ready to
PARTY!!!

My partner this year is the very talented Miss Tina Noonan
of Winged Imp Designs & Blog. She sent me a fabulous soup,
filled with so many fun things it was hard to choose what to make.
But right from the get go, a couple ingredients had me at HELLO,
like the wonderful grouping above! LOVE the color in these beads.

My eye was also caught by the Root Beer colored, vintage
Lucite triangular focal piece & portion of a drawer pull. To
see the entire SOUP sent to me by Tina, you can check out
my post HERE!

I started with the focal & since I've been kinda obsessed with sari silk
& vintage pearl, bird's nests lately, {I add them to EVERYTHING}
I knew I had to throw one on to this piece too.

I then drilled a couple of extra holes in the Lucite to attach
a soldered piece I made with beveled glass called 'Sisters'.

After mixing some of her beads, with some of my
beads, I wire wrapped the chain & VIOLA...

a beautiful necklace & earrings that I really do LOVE!
In fact, I'm wearing it out tonight for it's debut.

Thanks so much for stopping by to say hi
& here are the other participants of the 3rd Reveal Date...
I know they would LOVE for you to take a look at what
they have been working hard on too!! :)))

Check HERE for the other talented participants!!!
Thanks again friends & have a FABULOUS Weekend!!!

Here's the Soup I Sent!

Hi Soupers!!
Tina of Winged Imp got her beads yesterday,
so I can now show y'all what I sent her.

First, I threw in a few pieces from my 'SPOONIN' jewelry
line, cuz it's always so much easier to eat soup
when you've got a SPOON!  :)

Then I added some of my favorite colored beads
in luscious coppers & browns...

aquas & turquoise made from stone & glass,
the subtle, beautiful colors of nature.

And just for fun, I added some bird nests, vintage coins,
silver Milagros, wood beads, sari silk & vintage lace.
What fun...I can't wait to see what amazing design's
Tina comes up with & to sit down with all my
goodies & start makin my necklace.

Check back for more Bead Soup soon,
our reveal date is in April, now
to start designing!!

Anybody Hungry? It's Time for Some BEAD SOUP!

Happy Saturday Sweeties!
The weekend is here & today is a day many of us SOUPER'S have been waiting for...
it's finally BEAD SOUP Reveal Day!!!
Yipppppeeee.....are you hungry for more?

Here's how it works...
Our fabulous hostess with the mostest, Miss Lori Anderson of Pretty Things blog,
had over 300 jewelry designers from all over the world sign-up this summer to
participate in her much anticipated event. She then paired us up into partners,
with each of us sending our partner a batch of BEAD SOUP.

My partner is Malin de Koning from Sweden & I couldn't have been more pleased
when my ingredients arrived! They were stunning, I LOVED the colors & textures
she included & knew from the moment I saw my soup, I'd be using the glorious
blue ceramic focal & frayed sari silk in my design!

This earthy necklace almost made it's self! Malin had included this fabulous
chunky, wooden button which I knew I HAD to use, so instead of using the clasp she
sent along with the soup, I made a large loop at one end of the sari silk & threaded the
other end through the button tying it off in back. I love the raw & rustic look it created.

I had so many amazing beads to choose from, one of my favorites being
these thick, rough, glass rondelles the color of Root Beer, I decided to
make two pairs of earrings to match my necklace.

All the elements of my design are from Malin's
generous soup ingredients, the only things I added were the keys
& the vintage rosary charm on the necklace.

I ADORE my SOUP & couldn't be more thrilled with the end result.
I want to THANK Malin for sending me such glorious elements,
I want to THANK Lori for working so hard to organizing this Enormous Event
& I want to THANK you, for taking the time to stop by & see what we have all
been up to this summer!

I hope you're all still HUNGRY, cuz there's 364 more SOUPS to visit!
Just click HERE friends, to start your Bead Soup Blog Hop...
I'm grabbing a Starbucks Venti Mocha Frappicino,
that should get me through the 1st 100 or so.
Then I'll have some Chai Tea, a Hazelnut Coffee,
an Espresso, a Latte, some Earl Grey....lol!  ;)

My Beads Are Here From Sweden!!!

Hi Sweetest of Hearts...I hope you're having a wonderful week!!
I have been ever so patiently waiting for my beads to arrive from my new friend,
my Bead Soup partner from Sweden & can I just tell you...
THE BEADS WERE WORTH THE WAIT!!

Malin sent me several little, beautifully packaged jewelry boxes,
each filled to the brim with complete yummieness!
My very favoritest one is filled with beads of various textures & sizes.
Glass, wood, ceramic, all in subtle hues of blue, cream & brown.
Like I said, simply 'YUMMY', I adore them Malin!   ;)

She also included a drawstring bag filled with fiber...
How did she know I needed a little more fiber in my diet?

And a box filled with lovely silver clasps & silver beads,
big chunky, white tulip beads, white beads of all shapes & sizes,
including 2 little animal shaped beads,
3 red, white & blue beads
& some vintage silver toned chain.
Such a thoughtful & perfectly balanced bunch of ingredients for me to make my SOUP with!

With all that said, am I allowed to say what I LOVE the most about my SOUP?
It has something to do with sari silk & blue ceramic...
Don't forget to stop back by to see the Big Reveal on September 17th,
I can't hold myself back anymore...
it's time to start COOKING!!!!
Is it SOUP YET??

Soup is ON, Bead Soup That is!

Hey Sweeties...
I may disappear for a minute, flying off the grid...
but you can't get rid of me that easy! lol
Many of you probably already know this, but once again...drum roll please,
it's time for
Lori Anderson of Pretty Things Blog's, most delicious concoction.

I am so excited to be partnered up with a jewelry designer that I have never had the pleasure
to meet before, Malin de Koning from Stockholm Sweden.
She loves to work with beads & buttons & textiles & her
style seems to be full of color & texture,
sooooo gorgeous!

I'm sooooo excited for my foreign parcel to arrive!
I can't wait to see what she has sent to me,
but I'll bet you one thing...
I just know it will be FULL of COLOR!!!
Take a peek at Malin's beautiful blog, Beads By Malin de Koning
& as the ingredients for our SOUP arrive,
there will be so much more to share with you as
we gear up for our September 17th Reveal.
Stay Tuned & Enjoy this Beautiful Week!

20 Days Till Bead Soup Reveal...Yeah!!!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday Bloggy Buddies!!!
I have to admit, most of the year I'm not really a sports buff, I'm more of a movie buff. But on Super Bowl Sunday, I'm all about FOOTBALL! Well, if I'm being completely honest on this Special Sunday, I'm all about yummy food, alcoholic beverages, hanging with friends, halftime & commercials. LOL
{this is going to be a brief post, as I still have to make my 7 layer dip}  ;)

{pics courtesy of Lori Anderson}
I am getting so excited about Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Party!! Only 20 more days until 210 friends reveal the pieces of jewelry they created from the Bead Soup they received from their partners.

These are the components I sent Lori for her Bead Soup. I can't help but smile when I look at them, they are sooooo me. You gotta have an antique key & a religious metal as a focal point,
I mean for me it's a must...
it's going to be fun to see how see incorporates them into her design.
She's genius, so I know it's gonna be awesome!

I added some copper beads, chain & ear wires, along with some marbled stone beads
& the intials PT for her blog, Pretty Things.

I also sent her some cool little, neutral colored rondels to use as spacers. I ADORE her photos of all my goodies, she makes everything look so beautiful. She has such keen sense of composition & a great eye for photography!
So, Sweetest of Hearts...
Make sure you check back here on Saturday, February 26th & I'll have my creation up, along with the link for the Bead Soup Party over at Pretty Things.
I plan on making a HUGE cup of Chai Tea & spending the WHOLE day visiting my 210 friends that signed up for this fun & exciting challenge. Hope to see you there!!

Beyond Blessed & a Bead Soup

{Lori's beautiful presentation of red boxes with purple ribbon}
My Sweetest of Hearts,
How does one say Thank You, when they reach out for guidance & light
& are surrounded by Shooting Stars?
The Brilliance of your compassion, prayers & quiet wisdom,
helped me hear God's whispers & leaves me feeling Beyond Blessed.
Johnny & I will be forever grateful.
We asked for Light & were given a Beacon of Faith & Hope,
that helped us find our way through the dark.
My Heart is so Full,
Thank You isn't nearly enough.

{her labels with paper lanterns on them are divine}
And just when I needed it the most, something Wonderful came in the mail for me yesterday...
my very own BEAD SOUP. My lovely friend & amazing jewelry designer,
is hosting her 3rd Bead Soup Party & 210 friends are playing with her!
{simply saying that number out loud makes my hands sweat}

The idea of the party is to pair you up with a partner who has a completely different style then yours. Partners then exchange a focal piece, a clasp, some beads to get them started & any other fun extras you might want to add. Using the main components, we design a piece of jewelry & on February 26th we have our reveal & a Blog Hopping Party to go check out what everyone created...so much fun, right! Now for the biggest surprise...guess who my partner is??? Lori Anderson herself!! OMG...talk about pressure! I was horrified & delighted, all at the same time! Horrified, cuz what in the world could I give my bead guru that she would slightly like & delighted, cuz I knew I would be getting some 'Good Stuff!' My 1st box had my Extras in it...yes, those are my extras. A round, glass focal bead, a ceramic starfish by Spirited Earth & a glass pansy by CC Lampwork. I adore them all, but that Pansy just takes my breath away!!

My 2nd box had an amazing Thai, silver focal...
{I've never used anything like this, my mind is swimming with the possibilities}

and an abundance of beyond beautiful beads!!

I got labradorite, violet opals, amethyst, handmade lampwork glass beads by Davinia Design & cultured pearls. What a gorgeous & subtle color palette, it's stunning!

Thank you soooo much Sweet Lori, for sending me such awesome ingredients for my Bead Soup!
How can it not turn out yummy with all of these beauties added to the mix.

If you get a chance, please stop by Lori's blog to find out more & make sure you come back for the reveal on February 26th...I can't wait to see what everyone creates & that includes me! ;)

And as for Johnny...I will keep you posted. I'm at peace with my decisions.
Tammy said, "God led you to your brother not to just take him as you said, he led you to your brother so you could find him again. So, he would not be alone when it was his time to go. To know he had his loving sister with him. God let you find him so you could let him know it is okay to go now. He waited those years for you."
Again Sweet Friends, no words can express my Heart.
